Holiday marked by a number of arrests

WOBURN - A West Woburn woman whose blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit but still managed to pass a segment of the field sobriety testing was arrested following an incident near her home, Tuesday night.

The suspect, 36, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Police received a report of a vehicle being operated erratically on Burlington Street, and arrived at the scene to find the suspect gathering belongings from the rear seat of her parked car.

An officer noted an odor of alcohol emanating from the suspect, who said she had just returned from Christmas shopping at a store in the South End. A half-full bottle of wine was also spotted in a drink holder on the dashboard of the car.

The suspect failed two field sobriety tests, refused to take another but passed a fourth - a recitation of the alphabet.

After her arrest, the suspect allegedly twice blew a .26 on breath tests. The legal limit for intoxication is .08.

A Woburn Center man was arrested on a warrant after police saw his driving a car in the Green Street area, Tuesday night.

The suspect, 31, was wanted by Somerville District Court for motor vehicle offenses.

A South End man was arrested at his home on a warrant, early Tuesday.

The suspect, 43, was wanted by Malden District Court for a restraining order violation in Everett, on an unspecified date.

A West Woburn man was arrested on a warrant after police saw him riding a bicycle in the Green Street area, Tuesday night.

The suspect, 18, was wanted by Lowell District Court, on unspecified charges.

A Methuen man was arrested following a disturbance at a home in West Woburn, Tuesday afternoon.

Sean M. Cioto, 38, was wanted by Haverhill District Court for motor vehicle offenses in 2007.

Police responded to a report of a domestic argument and discovered the warrant when a records check was run on the suspect.

Police issued a summons to court for a Salem Street man after a traffic stop near Woodbrook Cemetery, Tuesday night.

The suspect, 29, who was also listed with a South End address, was charged with driving without a license and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Police pulled over a Ford SUV driven by the suspect after spotting information on the license plate that indicated the registration expired in October.

A records check revealed not record of the suspect having a license in Massachusetts.
