Burlington man held for Woburn home invasion news@woburnonline.com BURLINGTON A Ledgewood Drive man was arrested Monday on a warrant after his alleged participation in a home invasion in Woburn the previous day, police said. According to reports, George Harris, 42, faces the home invasion charge after, according to Woburn police, he entered a house in that city and allegedly punched a man who owes him money. Making the arrest were patrolmen Michael Debye, Joseph Papsedero, Matthew Leary, and Matthew Driscoll. It was logged at 9:23 p.m., Monday. * A Medford man was arrested on multiple charges early Saturday after being pulled over on Middlesex Turnpike, police said. Reports indicated Matthew Rumley, 20, is charged with possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), operating with a suspended license, having no registration, and speeding. Abaskharoun and Priest investigated, and the incident was logged at 3:13 a.m., Saturday. * A local woman faces charges of filing a false police report, Inspector Gary Redfern said, after she admitted fabricating a story about an assault at Citizens' Bank last month. At the time, the woman said she went to make a deposit at the bank, came back to the car after forgetting her ATM card, and then was pulled from the car, punched, and robbed. Redfern said that the woman recently recanted the entire story. * A Dearborn Road man was arrested on multiple charges early Saturday after a Eugene Road man called police and told them he was trying to gain entry into his house, police said. The Dearborn Road man, 18, faces charges of attempting to commit a crime and disturbing the peace. The incident was investigated by sergeants David H. McLean and Thomas Browne, and officers Lyn Reynolds, Peter Abaskharoun, and Christopher Priest. It was logged at 6:26 a.m., Saturday. * A Harriett Avenue man was arrested Monday on several traffic warrants after someone reported to police his whereabouts, reports indicated. This was logged at 11:31 p.m., Monday. * A 36-year-old Gidley Street man is expected to be summonsed to court, police said, after he allegedly pulled up to a vehicle Friday night (he was in a Ford pick-up), and fired a packet of McDonald's sweet-and-sour sauce at a woman, hitting her in the face. The log indicated the man is charged with assault-and-battery with a dangerous weapon. Driscoll investigated the incident, logged at 7:33 p.m., Friday. * A Brookfield Road man told police he was assaulted while in his yard Monday night; he got the license-plate number of the assailant's car and police are investigating. Leary investigated and the incident was logged at 7:31 p.m., Monday. * There were three reports of vandalized properties over the weekend 18 Terry Avenue and 10-20 Mall Road (which occurred Sunday night), and Cheng's Wok restaurant at 184 Cambridge St. (this happened Friday night). Patrolmen Robert Reyes and Robert Aloisi Jr. investigated. * A Dale Street man told police someone dumped two old tires near his property over the weekend, also telling them this is an ongoing problem. Aloisi Jr. investigated and the incident was logged at 8 p.m., Saturday. * Police are investigating a report of a flim-flam that occurred in the Burlington Mall parking lot near Sears Saturday, in which a person was bilked out of $10,000. Patrolman Charles Ferguson III investigated the incident and it was logged at 1:03 p.m., Saturday. * An employee of the Casual Male store at the Crossroads Shopping Center told police a female "left the store with unknown items" Saturday night. Cooney investigated, and the incident was logged at 5:41 p.m., Saturday. * Security personnel at Filene's told police someone exposed himself in the store Sunday afternoon; this was logged at 4:13 p.m., Sunday. * A Nelson Road woman told police she "heard a loud noise" early Friday, looked outside her house and discovered the windshield of her son's car was smashed. Reynolds investigated the incident and it was logged at 12:32 a.m., Friday.
